Today's schedule is D-C-Lunch-A-B

C - Criminology 12 - Today we will start by considering what a "victim" of crime is. We'll start watching the Law& Order: Special Victim's Unit episode "Closure". This episode deals with the short and long-term effects of a sexual assault on a victim. From TV.com "Benson does her best to help a rape victim who is able to describe her attack in perfect detail, yet unable to properly identify her attacker when push comes to shove. When the detectives revisit the case a few months later, they find the woman even less willing to talk about what happened, as she claims she has moved on." I want you to think hard during this episode and pay careful attention to what happens with Harper's character. Answer the following: What are the short and long term impacts on victims of Crime? Use Harper in the Law & Order episode you watched today and Chapter 3 pages 54-7 in Criminology: The Core textbook to help.

NOTE: our first quiz will be on Tuesday, next week (February 23rd).

A - Earth & Space Science 11 - We are back in the library today and Monday, working on our mining poster. Remember that you need to gather information about one specific substance mined in Canada and there are many minerals, ores, gems, metals, and fossil fuels that you may choose from. The assignment is in the shared directory (K:\Mr. A. Young\Earth & Space Science 11) on the computers at school and is due on February 26th (a week from tomorrow).

NOTE: our first quiz will be on Friday, next week (February 26th).

B - Social Studies 10 - Today is the last day in the Library for work on our Physiographic Regions of Canada project. The assignment sheet can be found in the K Drive on the computers at school (K:\Mr. A. Young\Social Studies 10) and it's titled "ss10 physio proj.pdf". Please use your time wisely as you only have today left in the library...after that if you need computer time it will have to be on your own. You will have time next week to work on the assignment in class. Do not forget that the rest of your Atlas/mapping work is due on Monday next week. Please have it ready to hand in then.

Pau Hana!
