Today's schedule is A-B-Lunch-C-D
A - Earth & Space Science 11 - We are in the library today and tomorrow, working on our mining poster. Remember that you need to gather information about one specific substance mined in Canada and there are many minerals, ores, gems, metals, and fossil fuels that you may choose from. The assignment is in the shared directory (K:\Mr. A. Young\Earth & Space Science 11) on the computers at school and is due on February 26th (a week from tomorrow).
B - Social Studies 10 - Today is Day two in the Library for work on our Physiographic Regions of Canada project. The assignment sheet can be found in the K Drive on the computers at school (K:\Mr. A. Young\Social Studies 10) and it's titled "ss10 physio proj.pdf" Check out yesterday's blog entry for more information. Please use your time wisely as you only have today and tomorrow in the library...after that if you need computer time it will have to be on your own.
C - Criminology 12 - Today we'll start with a quick Power Point review of the crime trends and patterns work we looked at yesterday morning & you can work on your letter to the editor from the last few days. I will be asking you to post it to your blog rather than giving me a hard copy of it. The letter is due Monday (February 22nd). For the last part of the class we'll discuss victims of crime and victimology. We'll look at the Holly Jones murder case in Toronto (2003) and try to find out what impact that would have on her family, her classmates at school, her neighbourhood, and really the entire greater Toronto metropolitan area. We'll have a few notes to take down on the problems of being crime victims (economic loss, system abuse, long term stress, fear, and antisocial behaviour). Tomorrow we'll finish that up and watch a powerful Law & Order: Special Victim's Unit episode (more to come).
