A - Earth & Space Science 11 - Yesterday we started our first lab for the course (identifying minerals). Most of you finished the analysis of the minerals on the identification sheet. Today we'll finish the identification section and then work on the questions for the lab. The lab is due this Monday (February 15) and it is IMPERATIVE that you get your work handed in. If you are having difficulty please see me soon. You'll also need to work on some questions from page 43 in the text that I assigned earlier on this week (For Review q's 6-7-8-10-11-12)
B - Social Studies 10 - Today we'll continue with the Summerland topographic map in the Geographic Understandings book. Don't forget, the questions you need to work on are 1-8 (you will not have to do question 8d) and you will also need your atlas for this activity. You'll need to look at the thematic maps in your atlas: maps on farming, soil, and climate. Consider the following agribusinesses in Summerland:
Dirty Laundry Vineyards
Sumac Ridge Estate Winery
Sonoran Estate Winery

After you finish this we'll work on an atlas activity together. There isn't homework with this...we'll continue with it on Monday.
C - Criminology 12 - This weekend you need I'd like you to watch the first ten minutes of two news broadcasts: one Canadian and one American. Try to watch on Sunday night because today and tomorrow will be filled with Olympic coverage. I'd like you to look at the top stories and see if they were crime related or not. Ask yourself whether the news influences fear about crime or not. Today, we'll switch and look at the three methods for collecting crime data (UCR, PRVS, Self-Reports). After we'll watch a Criminal Minds episode
