Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

Tuesday's schedule is C-D-Lunch-B-A.

D - Geography 12 - Today we will begin our look at the five themes of geography (location, place, human-environment interactions, movement, and regions) and fill in some notes in our week one package. We will have a "Geography ID" assignment that will be due on Thursday (NOTE: you'll need access to the Internet and Google Earth - download Google Earth for free at http://earth.google.com/). Don't forget that on Monday you were given your "Observing as a Geographer" assignment that will be due this wednesday (tomorrow - Sept 10th).

B- Earth and Space Science 11 - Yesterday we reviewed Friday's work on systems and spheres and looked at the 1st and 2nd law of thermodynamics. You will need to hand in your homework (q. 4 a-l on p.20) today. In today's class we will look at geologic time, uniformitarianism, catastrophism, feedback in systems and thresholds. Lastly we will look at humans in the Earth system. To end the class we will work on a few definitions and questions to review our chapter 1 work.

A - Law 12 - So as you've surmised by now it is way too easy to get sidetracked in law. We had a good discussion on cell phones and driving and cigarette smoking near public institutions. Now we need to get moving on! Today, we'll quickly review the purposes of law that you identified in groups and begin a look at the foundations of our modern legal system. We'll get to that power point presentation on the history of law and look at the major divisions of law in Canada. Expect some questions for homework tonight.

After today there are only 83 classes left...hope you're ready.
