Today's schedule is A-B-Lunch-C-D

A - Social Studies 11 - Today in class We'll watch a 20 minute on line video called the Story of Stuff.

We'll end the class with a seemingly simple question...."How Much do You Consume?" This is directly connected with a concept called "Ecological Footprint" and we'll be looking at the impact of our "western" consumption based society on the global environment. Here are some websites to look at when considering our ecological footprint:
World Wildlife Fund - Living Planet Report
A Graphic Look at the State of the World
David Suzuki Foundation
Global Footprint Network
Zero Footprint Calculator
Earth Day

B - Social Studies 10 - Today we'll continue with our work on the economy of BC, with our focus being on smaller industries like film and television production. I'll go through some facts and show you some web sites that can help and then you need to continue working on your Economy of BC poster activity. Here are some websites to help:
Hollywood North
BC Film Commission
BC Competition Council - check out pages 9, 10, & 11 on the pdf
BC Government analysis / report on Film & TV production - check out pages 16 - 18 on the pdf

C- Criminology 12 - Today you have the entire block to continue work on your major project for the course. I will remind you that Tuesday is the last day of classes for Criminology 12 in Term 4 and your assignment is due on that day. Don't forget to look at yesterday's blog entry to see web links for theory explanations. Good Luck!
