Today's schedule is C-D-Lunch-B-A

C - Criminology 12 - Today we will have our violent crime quiz to start the class. When we finish the quiz we'll discuss the history of theft and make sense of the differences between occasional and professional thieves. There will be no homework today. Tomorrow we'll look at shoplifting and car theft.

B- Social Studies 10 - Today we'll spend some time looking at the treaties on the Canadian prairies that allowed for settlement and the building of the CPR. We'll look at the Indian Act of 1876 and the eleven treaties signed between 1871 and 1921 that turned over 2 million square kilometres to the Canadian government. You'll need to work on questions 3 & 4 from page 143; 7 a, b, c, and d, along with questions 8 & 9 from page 145 of the Challenge of the West textbook. We'll also watch a few episodes of Canada: A People's History and if there's time left you can work on your project.

A - Social Studies 11 - Today we'll finish up the Cold War by focusing on the Mulroney Era in Canadian politics and you'll add questions 1 & 2 from page 156 to your work from yesterday. After, we'll examine the dramatic changes to Canada's culture and identity as a result of the "baby boom" generation. We'll look at how the government tried to protect Canadian culture and the economy along with the development of both the environmental and woman's rights movements. We'll watch a few episodes of Canada: A People's History and then you'll need to work on question 6 from page 167; questions 1 & 2 from page 172; question 2 from page 176 and questions 2 & 3 from page 182 of the Counterpoints textbook.
