A Block Criminology 12 - So let's talk about stress. Some of you are not too fond of public speaking and find it an unpleasant experience. It doesn't have to be. You have five minutes to present information on a criminology topic to the class. The information is about something you are interested in and why you are interested in it. Some of you have indicated that you're panicking about speaking in front of the class which is both natural and actually kind of funny (given that you all have done this already just not in a structured format). So look through the following websites to help you plan for your talk:
CAASAA Public Speaking Skills
How to Conquer Public Speaking Fear
Toastmasters Tips & Techniques
Overcoming the Fear of Speaking to Groups
Overcoming the Fear of Public Speaking
The Art of Speechmaking
Today, we start with our presentations for the remainder of the week.Don't forget I need you to hand in your question from last week:
- Should prostitution be legalized? Why? If you believe it should be legalized, should all the forms of prostitution described in your text be legalized, or only a select few? If prostitution were legalized should government be able to exercise some control over it?
B Block Social Studies 10 - You have family heritage assignments to present today, Tuesday, and Wednesday this week. I have the notebooks available for you if you need them to present and I'll ask for volunteers rather than voluntolds to present today. I look forward to see where your family falls in the history of Canada that we've looked at this year
C Block Crime, Media and Society 12 - I have the notebooks booked for today and tomorrow for you to finish your work on the media monitoring assignment. so, log on to the collaborize classroom site and finish up your individual threads.
D Block Law 12 - I have the notebooks booked for today and tomorrow for you to finish your work on the major civil law project you've been working on all term. Three of you have handed in the assignment (thank you) and if you're done then you may prepare for Wednesday and Thursday's final exam.
