Day 6 - Wednesday September 15. 2010

D - Geography 12 - Today I'll spend some time going over the answers to your work on systems, feedback, equilibrium, and thresholds. A reminder: the "Geography ID" assignment will be due on tomorrow (NOTE: you'll need access to the Internet and Google Earth - download Google Earth for free at http://earth.google.com/) and I will take your week 1 package then. Next we'll move on to geographic spheres within the Earth system and discuss the Lithosphere, the Atmosphere, and the Hydrosphere. Tomorrow we'll work on the Biosphere a question about spheres and move on to latitude, longitude, GPS, and GIS.

C - Law 12 - Today we will continue our Introduction to Law unit by working on a series of questions from the end of the chapter. First we'll go over yesterday's questions and then we'll quickly review Social Studies 11 work on the constitution and how laws are made. For the last part of class, you'll need to complete all of the Reviewing Key Terms questions (a through l) along with Exploring Legal Concepts question 2 and Applying Legal Concepts question 8 (R. v Dudley and Stephens).

A - Introduction to Law 9/10 - Today we are going to talk about the victims of crime. Crime Victimization is a huge area of study in Criminology and we'll try to make sense of some victim statistics. I'll remind you that tomorrow you'll need to bring your coloured pencils as you will be drawing what you think the typical victim of an assault looks like. You will need to keep in mind the demographic statistics about victims and the factors that add to the risks of being a victim. This will be due on Monday and you will also have a quiz on Tuesday. The quiz will be on the first four pages of your notebook (the topics we covered in Law 9/10 this week).
