Today's schedule is A-B-Lunch-C-D
Northridge Earthquake Seismogram

A - Earth & Space Science 11 - Today we'll start the class with the questions that we didn't get to yesterday (1, 3, 5, and 7 from page 167-8). Next we'll work on the "Locating the First Break" activity. In this you'll need to find the epicenter of a mythical earthquake in southwestern BC along with drawing a Mercalli shake / intensity map. Bring coloured pencils with you today for this activity and I'll have come protractors to help.

B - Social Studies 10 - Today we are going to continue our work in the library on the causes of Confederation essay. Before we head off to the library we'll start in the class looking at a conclusion paragraph. You'll need to wrap up your ideas on the six causes and indicate the importance Confederation has in Canadian history. There will be no "ebidee, ebidee, ebidee, that's all folks!" or "The End" or "Stick a fork in this Essay 'cause it's done" as your conclusion. C - Criminology 12 - Today we will start in the class where I'll give you a quick overview of our final assignment in Criminology. Once we've discussed the project we'll then head off to the library for the remainder of the period.

Instead of an essay or a survey of criminological theory worksheet I thought I'd give you the opportunity to spend some time looking at something that really interests you in Criminology. So basically I'd like to have a seminar on Monday and Tuesday where you have up to five minutes to present information on a criminology topic to the class. You can look at a specific crime, a specific criminal, a specific criminological theory, a criminal justice & enforcement technique that reduces crime, or any other criminological topic but it really should be of interest to you.

So if you're really interested in gangs you can choose that (what they do, how they do it, where they operate). If you're really interested in a specific gang you can choose that (the Hells Angels or the Bandidos). If you're really interested in how police infiltrate gangs you can choose that.

What should this look like? You'll have five minutes and you can use either your blog or powerpoint or some web based resource for graphic information. Tell the class what you found out about your topic and why it interests you.
