B- Earth and Space Science 11 - Today we are going to look at energy in the atmosphere. We will focus on absorption, scattering, and reflection of incoming energy along with energy balance, storage, and transfer (think heat and temperatures at the poles and the equator).
Afterwords we'll watch a video on heat and begin to understand the connection between the areas of surplus and deficit on the planet and how they help to drive weather patterns. Sweet!
A - Law 12 - Today I'm going to go over the work we covered on Friday. I will have a power point presentation on civil law damages and we'll have some time to work on our major project. Here is a reason not to procrastinate. There are only 22 classes remaining before our in class final exam (last two days of Semester 1). Your project is due on the last day of classes in Semester 1 which means.....drum roll.....there are a scant 24 classes left before this project is due.
D - Geography 12 - Today we will look at thunderstorms: how they develop and what damage they can do. I'll show you a few quick videos of hail and lightning to see how they form and then at the end of the class you'll need to work on questions 13 and 14 from page 248 of your Geosystems textbook. Tomorrow we look at tornadoes, Wednesday we look at hurricanes, Thursday we'll spend the class talking about Katrina, and Friday it's global climate classifications. Next Monday (December 15th) you'll have a unit final.
C - Introduction to Law 9/10 - Monday means quiz day; this time on forensic evidence in the lab rather than at the crime scene. After we finish the quiz we're off to the library to continue working on the forensic science web page project. You'll have some time as the week goes along to finish up the crime scene reconstruction activity that you started last week (tomorrow we'll finish the "I Detective" video we started on Friday).
