Today's schedule is A-B-C-D

A Block Geography 12 - Today you have a unit final on weather and if you came prepared, I am certain that you will have done well...No problems! I am certain that you will do well on this test as you've shown me that you can read and interpret a weather map with greater ability than most news "weather forecasters". The test will not take the whole block, so when you're completed for the time remaining after the test you may work on your questions we started last Thursday in class.

B & C Blocks Social Studies 11 -  Today we'll begin our look at human-social geography. We will start with population issues and today you'll get a handout on the history of human population. We'll talk about fertility (crude birth rates) and mortality (crude death rates) and the RNI (rate of natural increase). We'll examine population pyramids and the demographic transition model. Estimates are that in October 2011 the population of the world hit the 7 Billion mark. What does that mean for you?

We'll look at the 2016 World Population Data Sheet (using both the PRB Interactive Map and the pdf data sheet) to see current trends and numbers in world population. Lastly, we'll look at the Demographic Transition Model and examine the four stages of population change along with some population pyramids

Find out what your population number is at the BBC site here.

D Block Crime, Media & Society 12 - Today we're back in the library working on the wejit site. Now for today I'd like you to do two things:

  1. Work on last week's threads on your individual media monitoring project/assignment and Is social media good or bad for criminal trials (Casey Anthony, George Zimmerman, Jodi Arias)? then
  2. Work on the Russell  Williams Canadian-American News Coverage thread Do you think that Canadian media coverage of crime is similar to American media coverage of crime?

So with our movie project, we have to make note (write down) all the crimes that they make? I can not find the blog post that explains what we have to do.
