Today's schedule is A-B-C-D

A Block Geography 12 -Today, we'll look at Thunderstorms. We will look at how thunderstorms develop and what damage they can do. I'll show you a few quick videos of hail and lightning to see how they form and then we'll watch the Lightning episode of Raging Planet. While this is on, you'll need to work on questions 13 and 14 from page 248 of your Geosystems textbook.

B & C Blocks Social Studies 11 - Today we'll watch episode 3 of "The Dark Years" from the NFB. I'll need you to answer the following:

  1. How did Canadians respond to the Spanish Civil War?
  2. Which armies aided Franco’s rebel army during the Spanish Civil War? How did these armies benefit from their involvement in the war?
  3. How were Canadian veterans of the Spanish Civil War treated upon their return to Canada and why? 
  4. What event eased the unemployment that had plagued Canada through the Great Depression? What were the Canadians who took these new jobs producing?

Next we'll look at isolation and appeasement along with Canada's declaration of war. I'll show you some archival footage from Germany and then you'll need to work on questions 2, 3, and 5 from page 98 along with questions 1 through 4 on page 105 of the Counterpoints text.



D Block Crime, Media and Society 12 - Today we're back in the library working on a few things:
  1. Finish your work on the Dateline/48 Hours Mystery thread specifically the Reality Crime Television question on "Big Ideas connecting the shows"
  2. Finish your work on the The Highway of Tears thread.
  3. Post your project topic in the Individual Media Monitoring Assignment thread 
  4. Work on the Class and Crime question connected to the People like Us PBS documentary below.
  5.  Finish up your clique assignment or your social influences assignment that are due tomorrow.
