Today's schedule is A-AG-B-C-D

A & C Blocks Social Studies 10 - Today we will spend the class working on our children's book about the building of the CPR. Remember, the book is targeted for 5 to 9 year old children you'll need to choose your words carefully and have age appropriate language. Look at yesterday's blog entry for websites to use. On Monday I'll give you a review for next Friday's unit final and Tuesday through Thursday we are in the library digitally composing and compiling out children's book.

B Block Law 12 - Today we'll be in the class watching the documentary Hot Coffee. Seinfeld mocked it. Letterman ranked it in his top ten list. And more than fifteen years later, its infamy continues. Everyone knows the McDonald’s coffee case. It has been routinely cited as an example of how citizens have taken advantage of America’s legal system, but is that a fair rendition of the facts? Hot Coffee reveals what really happened to Stella Liebeck, the Albuquerque woman who spilled coffee on herself and sued McDonald’s, while exploring how and why the case garnered so much media attention, who funded the effort and to what end. After seeing this film, you will decide who really profited from spilling hot coffee. We'll watch the first 36 minutes of the movie and then you have the rest of the class to work on your Civil Law project.

Your textbook states: Many Canadians regard civil suits like Stella Liebeck’s as frivolous (silly or wasteful). What do you think? I'll ask you that question after we watch the documentary.

D Block Law 9/10 - Today we'll watch an episode of CSI (#301 Revenge is Best Served Cold). From tv.com... Catherine and Nick investigate street racing after one of the drivers is found dead out in the desert at an abandoned airstrip. Back in town, Grissom and his crew look into the death of a poker player who suffered a violent convulsion in the middle of a high-stakes game with three others. As always, things aren't what they seem.

When we're done you may continue working on your Clue Us In crime scene reconstruction assignment. I have Monday, Wednesday and Friday booked for you in the library to work on this activity.
