Today's schedule is C-AG-D-B-A

C Block Law 9/10 - Today we'll do a quick review for your second quiz (tomorrow) dealing with the topics we covered in Law 9/10 last week (mass & serial murder, profiling, and criminal pathology). After, we'll finish our look at profiling by examining Geographic profiling. I'll ask you to brainstorm a list of locations in the Comox Valley that you feel crime will be more prevalent in and you'll have to justify your reasoning. For more on Geographic profiling check out:

When we're done we'll work on a crime map for the Comox Valley. I'll have you map out residential and business break and enters along with stolen vehicles from February through April 2014. We'll see whether or not your crime prone locations match the actual statistics of crime in the Comox Valley.

B Block Geography 12 - Today we will look at reading a weather map. You can practice by using the following web pages: Wisconsin station model exercise WW2010 University of Illinois weather page Weather Report.com We'll start by using the WeatherCycler to understand the three dimensional aspects of a low pressure system. We'll work together as a class on Activities 1 - 4 and then I'll have you work in partners on activities 5 and 6. Your activity after this is to read through the section on weather station models, complete the model plots in the week 13 package and then be the weather forecaster for Detroit Michigan. Look in your week 13 package to see the synoptic chart (also below) and then figure out the probable weather for the next two days.

A Block Social Studies 11 - Today we'll start with the Dark Years episode 3 (which deals with the Spanish Civil War and the events leading up to World War Two). I have a few questions about the video I'd like you to answer (from the overhead). After, I'll give you half an hour to work on questions 2, 3, and 5 from page 98 along with questions 1 through 4 on page 105 of the Counterpoints text which deals with Canada's response to the outbreak of World War Two, the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan and the concept of Total War. To end today, we'll watch the first forty five minutes of Hitler in Colour.

This video deals with the rise of Hitler in Germany from 1933 to the invasion of the Soviet Union (Operation Barbarossa) in 1942. Tomorrow we'll examine the military strategic movements in Europe and the Pacific at the beginning of World War Two.
