A & D - Criminology 12 - Welcome to Criminology 12. Today we will go through the course outline package. I have two questions that I'd like you to brainstorm:

What is the purpose of laws and what is a crime ?
Why do people commit crime?

After a few minutes I'd like you to partner up and get your ideas on a large sheet of paper to share with the class. We'll try to make sense of your ideas and will continue this through tomorrow. This will lead us into an exploration of criminological theory.

B- Earth and Space Science 11 - Welcome to Earth & Space Science 11. Today we will go through the course outline package and we'll start a discussion of systems and spheres in the class. We'll use Google Earth to look at the entire planet we live on and try to make sense of how something happening in Indonesia has effects on us here in British Columbia. Think of the 1883 eruption of Krakatau (now Anak Krakatau). How could a volcano in Indonesia affect us here?

C- Geography 12 - Welcome to Geography 12...the most important class you'll ever take in your life. There are only 89 classes remaining in the course. Today we'll go through the course outline and then we will begin by learning to observe as a geographer would. We'll head outside for some observational and analytical skill development. Be prepared to look beyond simple observations and try to see a larger picture with connections to the wider world. We'll practice an analysis of a photo in class and you'll start working on your first assignment for the course.
