Today's schedule is B-A-Lunch-D-C

B - Social Studies 10 -Today you are in the library for your second day of research on the Economy of BC assignment (pamphlet). Take a look at yesterday's blog entry for both an explanation of the assignment and a list of URL's that you can use to find information on each of the six sectors.

A - Earth & Space Science 11 - Today we'll finish the Cosmic Voyage DVD we started yesterday in class. You'll have the block to finish the Stars and Galaxies Worksheets 1 & 2 along with questions 1-7 on page 546 of the Earth Science and the Environment textbook. You can watch the video here:

C - Criminology 12 - Today you have the block in the library to complete the questions I posted yesterday (public order crimes on prostitution, pornography, and drug use). When you finish this task you can begin research on your seminar project that you'll be presenting next week. I posted the assignment this past Monday (June 7th)...

Instead of an essay or a survey of criminological theory worksheet I thought I'd give you the opportunity to spend some time looking at something that really interests you in Criminology. So basically I'd like to have a seminar on Monday and Tuesday where you have up to five minutes to present information on a criminology topic to the class. You can look at a specific crime, a specific criminal, a specific criminological theory, a criminal justice & enforcement technique that reduces crime, or any other criminological topic but it really should be of interest to you.

So if you're really interested in gangs you can choose that (what they do, how they do it, where they operate). If you're really interested in a specific gang you can choose that (the Hells Angels or the Bandidos). If you're really interested in how police infiltrate gangs you can choose that.

What should this look like? You'll have five minutes and you can use either your blog or powerpoint or some web based resource for graphic information. Tell the class what you found out about your topic and why it interests you.

DON'T FORGET that you have your final quiz in Criminology tomorrow...it's on property crime, white collar and organized crime, and public order crimes.
