Today's schedule is C-D-Lunch-B-A

C - Criminology 12 - Today we will take the first twenty-five minutes of class to write our violent crime quiz. After we'll begin our look at property crimes. Then we'll discuss the history of theft and make sense of the differences between occasional and professional thieves. We'll turn our focus to shoplifting and examine the Winona Ryder case. You'll need to answer the following:
  1. What are the differences between a professional and an occasional thief?
  2. What is a "situational inducement"?
  3. What is a "Booster", a "Heel", a "Snitch", a "Fence"?
  4. Why do you think Winona Ryder shoplifted (motive)?
  5. Do you think the penalties given to her were appropriate (3 years probation, 4000 hours of community service, $9000 fine, and drug & psychiatric counseling)? Why or why not
Tomorrow we'll focus on auto theft and you'll need to explain the five types of motor vehicle theft and you'll be working on a poster to control shoplifting. If we get to it, we'll look at burglary & Break and Enter. Friday we'll look at arson and watch a Criminal Minds episode on the topic.

B - Social Studies 10 - Today we're off to the library to continue our work on the Rebellions Editorial activity. Remember you need to determine whether the rebels were either justified in their actions or were traitors to the King and England. Use question 19 from page 33 of the Challenge of the West textbook as a guide for you. Ask questions of me today because this will be the last day in the library for you to work on this. The editorial is due this Friday.

A - Earth & Space Science 11 - Today you have the block to get any missing Unit 1 work in to me (I can not accept any more Unit 1 work after today's class). Tomorrow morning you have your unit final test and I hope that you are prepared. You should have all the materials necessary in order to be successful and if not please check the returned work bin for any of your stray or lost work. For the last 20 minutes I'll show you the remainder of the video that you didn't get through while I was away yesterday. Study, sleep, eat and come prepared!
