Today's schedule is C-D-Lunch-B-A

D- Law 12 - We are in the library working on our legal issues project. In this assignment you will need to explore a controversial criminal law issue in Canada (topics include: changing the Youth Criminal Justice Act; censorship versus freedom of expression and obscenity; euthanasia and physician assisted suicide; copyright law and downloading music from the Internet; eliminating or strengthening the Firearms Control Act; decriminalization of marijuana; reinstatement of the death penalty; civil unions and same sex marriage; First Nations land claims; criminalization of abortion; or any other relevant Canadian legal topic). Research both sides of the argument, find out what the situation is in other countries and then defend your point of view. Here are a smattering of web pages to help; some are American while others are Canadian:

B- Geography 12 - Today is your Tectonics Unit Final Test. I hope you come prepared (A.K.A. you studied!) If you did study then I'm sure you'll do fine. Good Luck!

A - Social Studies 11- Today we start by reviewing the work from Friday's class. On Friday we examined the economic causes of the first world war focusing on imperialism and militarism. We looked at the British naval escalation (HMS Dreadnought) and the massive arms development in Germany. Today we focus on the system of alliances (Triple Alliance / Triple Entente) and nationalism (Serbian "Black Hand" and Austria-Hungary control over the Balkans). Lastly we will look at Gavrillo Princip and the assassination of Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sofia. Tomorrow we will examine the domino effect that led to war and Canada's response.
