Today's schedule is B-A-Lunch-D-C

B - Geography 12
- Today we'll begin the class by watching Geologic Journeys:The Rockies. This episode is all about terrain building and the formation of the Rockies in Canada. When the video is finished, you'll work on your Day 14 assignment (define anticline & syncline, and work on questions 4 - 5 from page 412 in your Geosystems text). You will also have the opportunity to work on your Day 13 Juan de Fuca plate and Geothermal energy questions as well. All of your work is due this tomorrow.

ALERT: A tsunami warning was issued for New Zealand and other Pacific islands this morning after a 8.0 Magnitude earthquake struck near American Samoa at 10:48 this morning. Check out the Pacific Tsunami Center website or the USGS Earthquake Center website for more information.

NOTE: It's 3:30 in the afternoon. The Pacific Tsunami Center cancelled the wider region warning but stated that a tsunami did strike American Samoa. Check the following link to Tsunami coverage from MSNBC

A - Social Studies 11 - Today we'll be looking at elections in Canada - specifically focusing on political ideology and the parties that follow specific ideologies. A political ideology deals with goals (how society should work) and methods (how to reach the goals). We'll look at the major political parties in Canada: Liberal, Conservative, New Democratic, Green, and Bloc Quebecois.


D- Law 12 - Yesterday we looked at legal rights in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms (sections 7-9 and briefly at 10-14). We'll then spend the rest of the class talking about equality and looking at section 15. We'll work on the Thibaudeau v. Canada (1995) case together as a class and then you'll be responsible for completing questions 8-11 on page 44. You'll have the rest of the class to work on your Keegstra case study. Don't forget you've got your unit final this Thursday.
