Today's schedule is A-B-Lunch-C-D

A - Social Studies 11 - Today in class we'll review yesterday's work on population issues. We'll look at the Demographic Transition Model and examine the four stages of population change. Next we'll look at population pyramids and as a class we'll work through questions 1 - 5 on page 326 of the Counterpoints textbook. The remainder of the class will be spent on the Population Activity handout that I will distribute in class. We'll examine the population pyramids of Canada, Mexico, India, and China for 2003 and the projected pyramids for India and China in 2025. You'll have some analytical questions to work on related to the demography of these countries. Don't forget to check out the "World Clock" on the Poodwaddle web site.

Social Studies 10 - Today we'll continue with our work on the economy of BC. You need to finish the questions from the photocopied handout that I gave yesterday. Today you'll need to create an economy glossary for Social Studies 10. You need to define the following terms in your own words (HINT - look in the margins of the handout):

C- Criminology 12 - Today you have your property crime quiz. After the quiz we will quickly finish the Criminal Minds episode from last Friday (Compulsion from Season 1). Then we will move into our white-collar (enterprise) and organized crime unit. We will see the similarities between the two types of crime and you'll be introduced to Edwin H. Sutherland's Differential Association Theory (he introduced the concept "white collar crime"). We'll take a few notes and see what we can find on the Internet about white collar crime....spoil alert LOTS!
