THREE DAYS LEFT UNTIL BIKE TO WORK WEEK!

You too could win this Sweet Kona Fire Mountain bike. It will be in the office window all week long and you can drool over it there. All you need to do is ride your bike to school next week and register each day at the front entrance.

Today's schedule is A-B-Lunch-C-D

A - Social Studies 11 - Today with Mr. Lux you will begin the class with current events. Remember that you will be responsible for bringing a news item to class and each day we'll have five students share. After you'll work through a review sheet on World War Two for tomorrow's test. Yes, tomorrow there will be a unit final on WW2. On the review sheet will be the information you will be tested on, so there should be no surprises tomorrow. You'll have the class to work through the review sheet to prepare.

B- Social Studies 10 - To start the class with Mr. Lux today we'll begin with current events. Remember that you will be responsible for bringing a news item to class and each day we'll have five students share. After, we will be finishing off our last comments on the discussion of the pros and cons of BC entering confederation. This will be followed by in-class note taking on PEI and Newfoundland entering Confederation.

C - Criminology 12 - Today we will continue the activity we started yesterday where we had to create a poster showing a typical victim of a violent crime. You will need to choose a type of violent crime (homicide, assault, sexual assault, criminal harassment - stalking, hate crimes, kidnapping) and identify the personal characteristics, behaviours, and traits of the most likely victim of that crime (consider age, gender, social status, relationship status, race or ethnicity, prior victimization, behaviour, location, culture, etc...). You'll need to explain & draw the victim and then describe the theory of victimization that explains why they would fall prey to that crime. Tonight I would like you to think about what the roots of violence are; is violent behaviour natural in humans or is it learned and if it is learned behaviour where do we learn it? Can I blame everything on Bugs Bunny? Halo? Organized sports? Alcohol?
