Today's schedule is B-A-Lunch-D-C

B - Social Studies 10 - Today your children's book about the building of the CPR is due. My daughter is quite eager to read your work and we'll spend some time over the next week looking over your books. Today we'll finish up our last history section looking at the township and range division of Prairie land along with the Icelandic and Mennonite settlers on the Prairies. You'll work on questions 3, 4, & 5 from page 165 of the Challenge of the West text and we'll watch "The Last Best West" from Canada: A People's History.
Alberta's Township System
Canadian Archives Immigration Printed Advertisements
CBC Canada: A People's History: "Canada Opens its Door"

A - Social Studies 11 - Today we will finish our look at the radical transformation of Canadian society in the later half of the 20th Century. I'll go over the work from the last three days and we'll try to make sense of the dizzying pace of change that altered our "identity". The overarching question we'll try to answer is:

To what extent have Local, National, and Global forces shaped Canadian identity?

Monday sees us begin our look at the state of the world today - focusing on population, differing standards of living, economic development, environmental concerns and the conflict that arises from the combination of these factors.

C - Criminology 12 - Today we are going to quickly look at burglary and arson (motives and differences in types). After we will watch a Criminal Minds episode (#2) from season one Compulsion.

The "unsub" suffers from an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder called “scrupulosity”, and is obsessed with the number three. The doorknob turned against the lock three times, three fires were set at once, the first fires, the single fires, were in a trinity of threes – one at 3pm on March 3rd. The convergence of threes leads to anxiety and the OCD sets fires to ease that anxiety. The professor killed was in office #3. His class met on Tuesdays, the third day of the week, and Matthew Rowland had that class at 3:00 pm.
