Today's schedule is C-D-Lunch-B-A

C - Criminology 12 - Today we are back in the library working on our next journal/blog entry. You need to create your own "Theory of Violent Behaviour" (your own views on where violent behaviour comes from) and post it on the blog. Find one story from BC or Canada about a violent crime and try to apply your theory to explain why the crime took place.

B- Social Studies 10 - Today we will focus on the rebellions of Upper and Lower Canada in 1837/8. You'll need to answer the question "What were the causes of discontent in Lower Canada?" Next you'll need to answer question 5 from page 30 and question 9 from page 31 of the Challenge of the West textbook. For the last part of the class you'll get a chance to watch a few episodes from Canada: A People's History about Mackenzie and Papineau.

A - Social Studies 11 - Today you'll receive a few photocopied handouts on the outbreak of World War 1 (The Balance of Power, The Eastern Question and The Road to War). You will need to work on the "Making Connection" questions 1 & 2 from the "Balance of Power" handout. You will also need to work on questions 1 & 2 from page 24 along with question 2 from page 47 in the Counterpoints textbook. Later in the class, you'll watch the Century of Warfare DVD episode "The World Goes to War".
