Today's schedule is A-B-Lunch-C-D

A - Law 12 - Today we will go over the answers to the civil law questions I asked you yesterday (next friend, summons, discovery, statement of defense, judgements). We'll spend a bit of time looking at the divisions of civil law (Intentional Torts, Strict Liability, and Negligence) and then we're off to the library. I would like you to spend some time looking on line at actual cases related to ONE of your project fictional cases. Look for information about the Family Law Act, the Good Samaritan Act, the Liquor Licence Act, the Motor Vehicle Act, boating regulations, waivers for liability, strict liability, negligence, intentional torts or any other relevant information that will help you get some ideas about where to go with your case.

B- Earth and Space Science 11 - Today Mr. Luxemberger will have a PowerPoint on smog, acid rain, the ozone layer, global warming and alternative energy sources. After this you will have the opportunity to watch the National Geographic video "Six Degrees Could Change the World". It is important to remember that the overarching question "Is Climate Change a naturally occurring phenomena or is it anthropogenic (caused by humans)?" There is a very good interactive activity on the National Geographic website

C - Introduction to Law 9/10 - Today we will continue our look at criminal forensics by looking at how investigators estimate time of death, how fingerprints are "lifted" at a crime scene (including what AFIS is), what the "Four T's" are for marks at a scene, how fibres are used, and what ballistics is. Tomorrow we'll look at the use of DNA and try to understand the process of analyzing it and then it's time for another episode of CSI.

Today and tomorrow we'll go to: Rice University's CSI: The Experience Web Adventure to understand more about our topics.

D - Geography 12 - Today we are in the library for day two of research for our severe weather power point project. Remember that there are these things in the library called "books"; you may remember what they look like...there are paper pages with pictures and information on them bound together. Sarcasm aside please remember that you will need to have at least one print (book or magazine) source for your presentation. I have books in my room on severe weather that you might want to look at. Remember what I told you folks a few weeks back about taking short cuts to an end result? The purpose of this project is to learn about severe weather and your topic in depth. Please do not plagiarize work and present it as if it were your own. Show me what you have learned. Tomorrow will be our last day to work on this during class time so don't get lost on youtube watching videos of people getting struck by lightning or hit by hail (no matter how cool that is!)
