Today's schedule is D-AG-C-B-A

D Block Law 9/10 - Today we are back in the library to continue working on our Fairy Tale Crime Court Report. Remember, you are a court reporter at a criminal trial involving a fairy tale. Your job during the case is to accurately report the case to your readers. Your story will summarize the events leading to the trial (the story), what the person is being charged with, who testified and to what for the Crown, who testified and to what for the defense including what was the basis for their defense, and finally what the judge’s decision was and why. Look at Monday's blog entry for links and requirements. You have today and tomorrow for this activity and that's it. Work hard family, it's due on Monday (February 2nd).

C & A Blocks Social Studies 10 - Today we review for the final exam. On the very first day of classes I gave you a five paged course outline. The last two pages of the course outline were titled "What should I know for the Final Exam?" and you should still have a copy of it in your binder. Today I'll go through the review with you and we'll cross out some review questions that you will not be responsible for knowing. After, we'll finish the key points and important information about the following British Columbian industries:

  1. Forestry
  2. Fisheries
  3. Agriculture
  4. Mining
  5. Tourism
  6. Other (human and health services or film & television production and technology)
For each industry we'll look for the following data:
  • An overview of extraction/production methods (what is taken or produced and how it is done)
  • An overview of the impact on the economy of the province (how much money is made, how many people are employed, where in the province it is done, where the product is sold)
  • An explanation of the issues associated with the industry (social, environmental, economic concerns).
  • A job futures explanation (sunrise/sunset, rising/falling, etc...)

We'll also work on an activity about B.C.’s Top 12 Industries by Percent of Labour Force using figure 9.1 on page 322 of the Horizons text.

B Block Law 12 - Okay, so I don't want to heap on the pressure here but it's coming down to the wire right? You have today and tomorrow in the library to work on your major project that is due next Monday (that's four days from now). So...nose to the grindstone time; pound out the work and do the best that you can. Good Luck.
