Today's schedule is A-AG-B-C-D

A Block Criminology 12 - Today your blog entry will be to discuss the qualities of a financially successful professional burglar. In your blog entry today, discuss why some burglars prefer to victimize commercial property rather than private homes. Note some of the major techniques for how burglars approach their jobs. Why would some burglars want to hit the same target more than once? How might a burglar develop the kind of skills needed to become lucrative in this career? (HINT: Look at Neil Shover's explanation on page 234-237).

B Block Social Studies 10 - Today we'll look at the key points and important information about the following British Columbian industries:
  1. Forestry
  2. Fisheries
  3. Agriculture
  4. Mining
  5. Tourism
  6. Other (human and health services or film & television production and technology)
For each industry we'll look for the following data:
  1. An overview of extraction/production methods (what is taken or produced and how it is done)
  2. An overview of the impact on the economy of the province (how much money is made, how many people are employed, where in the province it is done, where the product is sold)
  3. An explanation of the issues associated with the industry (social, environmental, economic concerns).
  4. A job futures explanation (sunrise/sunset, rising/falling, etc...)

C Block Crime, Media and Society 12 - Today we're back in the library working on the collaborize classroom site. Now for today I'd like you to do three things:
  1. Finish your work (posting and commenting) on the age / gender / race-ethnicity and crime thread question.
  2. Begin posting in your project thread and
  3. Work on the Crime media and violent crime thread question (Magic Wand)

D Block Law 12 - Today we'll continue looking at the black comedy of The War of the Roses, based on the book by Warren Adler. In the movie, we saw how Barbara and Oliver's relationship stagnated and broke down over time due to a lack of communication and respect. We ended with Oliver's prophetic words..."you will never get that house". We'll finish the movie today and then try to understand how two seemingly intelligent and mature people can devolve into the malaise that ensues. Tomorrow I have the library booked for you to finish your project.
