This is it...the last day of the semester. Today's schedule looks like this: B-A-D-C-X

B Block Geography 12 - Today we will take the whole class to watch the rest of the movie Home that we started yesterday. We'll talk about the things you can do to address the problems / issues that the movie raises. Think about the title. What is our collective home? Now think about the statement from the beginning of the film...

Listen to me, please. You're like me, a homo sapiens. A wise human. Life; a miracle in the universe appeared around 4 billion years ago and we humans only 200,000 years ago, yet we have succeeded in disrupting the balance so essential to life. Listen carefully to this extraordinary story, which is yours, and decide what you want to do with it.

Thomas Hartmann ends another really good documentary Crude Impact by pleading for us to "personally wake up to these issues, and be an instrument of change, if only for one other person...Tag, you're it!".

So it is too late to be a pessimist. Go out in the world and get angry about what you see but then go do something about it...Tag, you're it

A Block Law 12 - Day two of your exam sees you complete the written answer case study section.

You have assignments due today...please do not give me any "My dog ate my homework" or "My computer crashed with all my work on it" excuses. Turn in your work today please.

D Block Social Studies 11 - This is your last school day to prepare for the final exam. Do not forget that the final is worth 20% of your grade and that it comes from the Ministry of Education in Victoria. We don't make it up but we do have a good idea of how many questions they'll be asking about what sections of the course and what topics they tend to ask questions on. If you are not in class then you can not get help...so I hope to see you today. We'll finish the review and I'll post the information about where you are writing the exam in class today. Those who are there will know where they are supposed to go.

C Block Crime, Media & Society - Today we'll finish Catch Me If You Can. I hope that you are becoming aware of the theme (trope?) of the Lovable Rogue, Gentleman Thief, Sympathetic Criminal, Folk Outlaw, or Robin Hood image when it comes to property crime and the media. Remember the Colton Harris-Moore story (Chasing the Barefoot Bandit)? Did that not resemble this one in some way? Please have your individual projects finished and then today we'll set up a schedule for next Wednesday's group presentations in the afternoon.
