Today's schedule is C-D-Lunch-B-A

C - Introduction to Law 9/10 - Today we will go through post-trial procedures (sentencing and the correctional system). We'll look at the goals of sentencing (retribution, rehabilitation, and deterrence) and understand the options available to the courts if a person has been found guilty of an offense. You will need to work on the following Chapter 10 questions:
  • Focus on Reading 1, 9, 10, 11, 13, 19, and 23
  • What do you Think 5, 16
  • Applying Your Knowledge 26
  • Resolving Cases 29
Tomorrow we'll review our entire criminal law unit for Friday's final quiz.

D - Geography 12 - Today is a crucial day in Geography 12; we will be discussing biogeochemical cycles - specifically the carbon and nitrogen cycles. We will also be discussing the flow of energy through an ecosystem (trophic layers and food webs). It is very important that you review systems and feedback from week 1 of the course (see blog for Wednesday, September 10, 2008). B- Earth and Space Science 11 - Today we'll head off to the library for work on our major project. You only have today's class and this Friday's class to complete any work during school time. Your project is due in a week and a half (Friday, January 23, 2009 - last day of classes before exam week). Tomorrow's topic will be the sun and our solar system; which we'll continue next Monday and Tuesday.

A - Law 12 - Today we continue looking at Family Law and our focus is on property division and support obligations. We'll look at: the equal division rule and the matrimonial home; spousal support and self sufficiency; and the types of child guardianship, access, and child support. Since we are in the library tomorrow and Friday you have some work to accomplish for next Monday's class. Please have completed Reviewing Your Reading questions:
