Tuesday, September 16, 2008

Tuesday's schedule is A-B-Lunch-C-D.

A - Law 12 - Yesterday we looked at rights that we felt were important to us. We worked in groups to build lists and presented our ideas to class. We'll finish this activity this morning and then we'll take a look at the different types of rights (civil, legal, & human) we have in Canada. Today we'll identify three sections of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms that limit your individual rights and then work on the Ford v. Attorney General of Quebec (1988) case.

B- Earth and Space Science 11 - Yesterday we started our first lab for the course (identifying minerals). Most of you finished at least 6-7 of the minerals on the identification sheet. Today we'll finish the identification section and then work on the questions for the lab. The lab is due this Thursday (September 18) and it is IMPERATIVE that you get your work handed in. If you are having difficulty please see me soon.

D - Geography 12 - Today we'll start our first topographic map assignment of the year. We are looking at Prince Rupert in northern British Columbia. We'll work on questions 1 & 2 together as a class and then you'll be responsible for the remainder of the work on your own. Bring your Canadian Landscape and Geosystems textbooks with you to class and please make sure you have a ruler and calculator with you as well.

NOTE: Today is picture day in school. You will be called down by advisory group so pay attention to the announcements to find out when to go for your picture. Classes will be disrupted as a result so try to focus today. Thanks!
